Understand what's going on
When an examination leaves questions, blood tests, urine tests or imaging may help us understand the cause. Your vet explains which tests could be useful and why.
When to choose this visit
For a concern that needs investigating or a test recommended by a vet. The first appointment is a consultation to decide which tests are appropriate.
What the consultation includes
- A review of symptoms, examination findings and previous results.
- A discussion of suitable tests and their estimated costs.
- An explanation of results and the next steps when results are available.
Before your visit
Bring earlier results and your referral, if you have one. Preparation depends on the test. Follow instructions from your treating clinic; do not assume every test requires fasting.
What the price covers
The example fee covers the initial consultation. Blood tests, imaging and other investigations are separate; this is not the total cost of a diagnostic work-up.
